WESTON Hospicecare has raised £16,500 in the memory of loved ones after welcomed hundreds of people to its Light up a Life event.

Glowing lanterns, carrying messages of dedication from loved ones were dotted around the hospice garden.

Louise Hayward from Highbridge, and her family attended the event to remember her dad who was a patient at Weston Hospicecare.

She said: “It was really lovely to see the garden lit up and that so many people had chosen to remember their loved ones at this event.”

As well as time to read dedications, there was music from Voices Apart, Churchill Community School’s junior gospel choir, and local group Lyrica.
