PEOPLE are being invited to take a tour around the new children's hospice in Wraxall.Children's Hospice South West, is welcoming people to take a look around Charlton Farm.Over the past two-and-a-half years, Babe's Big Appeal has raised a huge £11 million to fund the building of the new hospice. The target has been achieved largely through donations from the general public and businesses in the Greater Bristol area. With construction work at the site now completed, the hospice is being furnished and equipped ready for the first families to use its services from April next year.To say thank you for their generosity, Babe's Big Appeal supporters are being invited to Charlton Farm for a first hand view of the hospice taking shape and to see exactly where their donations have been spent. On a series of open days over the next five months, visitors can experience the homely and welcoming atmosphere at Charlton Farm and witness the care and attention which has gone into making the new hospice an exceptional place. The site includes a series of children's bedrooms cut into the hillside, family accommodation in the old farmhouse, a multi-sensory room, a jacuzzi and an indoor garden.Once fully operational, Charlton Farm will support around 200 sick children and their families every year, providing them with practical and emotional care in a place where they can relax and unwind. The charity will need to raise £6 million a year to run both Charlton Farm and its first hospice in Barnstaple, Little Bridge House.Children's Hospice South West co-founder Eddie Farwell said: "Charlton Farm has been transformed into a truly wonderful place."We want to say thank you to all those thousands of individuals, community groups and businesses across the region who have shared our dream and helped it become a reality."The open days run until March 2007 on Wednesdays through to Saturdays from 10am -3pm. Tours will run in hourly slots and places need to be booked with CHSW by e-mailing cfvisits@chsw.org.uk or writing to Angela Congedo at Charlton Farm, Charlton Drive, Wraxall, Bristol, BS48 1PE.
