WESTON Area Health NHS Trust has joined the social networking Twitter to help update local people on any changes to its services.

It can now send out information at the click of a button through the popular website, as well as answer any queries patients or relatives may have.

Caroline Welch, head of communications for the trust, said the idea had proved popular with an increasing number of people choosing to ‘follow’ it and receive the updates.

She said: “We are always looking for new ways to communicate with our patients and the public and Twitter is one way to do this.

“More and more people are using this kind of technology to find out about things that are important to them and we are keen for anyone interested in the work of Weston General Hospital and our community children’s services to follow us on Twitter at @WestonNHS.”
