Five porters from Weston General Hospital are lacing up their running shoes for a charity challenge next month.
The porters will be taking on the Bristol Half Marathon on September 17, raising money for the British Heart Foundation. (BHF)
Leading the group is John Tovey, who lost his dad Nick to a heart attack in 2009.
John, aged 27, will be running alongside hospital colleagues Mike Hales, Sam Cass, Roberto Merchán Sánchez and Rossi McComb for the half marathon.
John said: “I’m running the Bristol half for my dad. He died from a heart attack, which spurred me to improve my health and fitness. That is why I chose BHF.
“Training is going well, this is the furthest we’ve ran and the most seriously we’ve trained as it’s all in one big run.”
