A team of experts toured the hospital and have praised the housekeeping and nursing staff for tackling infections such as MRSA and C diff.
They said they were particularly impressed to find patient and public toilets are cleaned three times a day and all beds have disposable curtains around them.
The Government team also made recommendations for improvements including honing the antibiotic prescribing policy to cut the risks of bacteria multiplying and leading to C diff symptoms, including diarrhoea.
