WESTON'S hospital has been named as one of the top 10 hospitals in the country with the lowest death rates for patients. Figures for the last three years show the mortality rate at Weston General Hospital is 10 per cent below the national average.Weston Area Health Trust, which runs the hospital, is the only trust in the South West to make the ranking, according to independent healthcare researchers Dr Foster. The Grange Road hospital's new chief executive, Lorene Read, said: "This analysis shows that patient care is excellent in Weston and that the hospital is achieving the best outcomes for its patients. "It is evidence that this is a safe hospital with high standards of care and cleanliness.
