DOLPHIN Square is always a popular conversation topic among the people of Weston, and this week users of Streetlife have branded it as an 'eyesore' for visitors.

Nick Page started the conversation, describing Dolphin Square as ‘embarrassing’ highlighting it is often one of the first thing visitors see when they enter the town.

Mr Page said: “Tourists are confronted by the vast area of nothing but piles of rubble.”

He suggested the site could be screened off completely, allowing artists to decorate the boarding surrounding the site.

Jill B liked the idea of using artwork to brighten up the site, but said: “I can well imagine the council would sue them for damaging council property.”

Tony W highlighted how much of a talking point Dolphin Square has been, and said: “I really hope we aren’t, but I am pretty sure we will be having this same discussion in 12 months time.”

Project developer McLaren Life has delayed starting work on the development several times. However the firm has said it ‘anticipates’ construction would start in September.
