PUB-GOERS in Weston will be able to watch a former world pool champion at a fundraiser event next month.

Carl Morris, nicknamed Houdini, will be at All Stars in Regent Street on August 12 for the 43 Countries Exhibition Tour.

The appearance is one part of the challenge which will see Carl play in each of the 43 counties in 43 days. The tour started in Durham on July 9.

Carl hopes to raise £1,000 at each stop-off for Against Breast Cancer charity.

He said: “Men and women are affected by breast cancer and so are their family and friends.

“This will be a huge personal challenge for me but I am looking forward to it and am delighted I can put my skills to use for such a worthy cause.”

Director of Against Breast Cancer, Gordon Vallance, said: “People will be dazzled by Carl’s pool tricks and lively exhibitions and we are extremely grateful to him for undertaking this unique challenge for us.

“We hope that it will help increase awareness and funds for the valuable research work we are doing.”

The event at All Stars will consist of 20 games and some trick shots with audience participation.
