Houses reach record high

HOUSE building rates in Sedgemoor are the highest in 20 years according to figures published by Sedgemoor District Council.
Between April 2010 and March of this year, a total of 730 new homes have been completed in the district making it the highest number delivered in a single year for at least 20 years.
This record number ensures the council remains on track in delivering its planned growth as set out in its core strategy and represent an increase of 105 homes on last year.
It is further evidence that Sedgemoor continues to resist national and regional trends given the decline of housing supply nationally.
Also, almost 400 of all the new homes built last year fall into the category of affordable housing.
