Housing project on track

A HOUSING developer has now completed about a fifth of the properties at a site for 218 new dwellings.

Bloor Homes has finished 45 properties in the north of West Wick, including nine affordable homes, since August.

The development at the former caravan park, off West Wick roundabout, is near a proposed business park, which will also form part of the Weston Gateway proposals for the area just off the M5 roundabout.

The developer has already created a new access point off Somerset Avenue and has said that prior to the occupation of the 100th home it will seek permission for a 3,000sqm office building.

It says that before the occupation of the 180th property that office space will be completed and ready for occupation.

The business site will be off Yarbury Way in Weston Village and Diamond Batch in Worle.

There is also an intention to include a hotel, pub and retail centre within the overall development. There will also be affordable housing introduced at the site as part of a developer agreement.
