The Weston-super-Mare Air Festival always draws in a huge crowd of excited onlookers, but have you ever wondered what it is like to be in one of the Red Arrows planes?
The internationally-renowned flight display team has entertained millions of spectators and they are set to have a wonderful view of Weston seafront at this year’s festival.
The festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday and the Red Arrows will be taking to the skies on both afternoons.
READ MORE: For a full timetable of air festival events, click here.But to become a pilot that can fly with the Red Arrows you must pass a number of criteria before you can join.
A pilot must have completed a minimum of 1,500 flying hours, they must complete a frontline tour and be highly-rated before they can join the team.
Applicants are then whittled down and must pass a rigorous test before getting approved.
