MORE than 200 people attended an annual memorial service in Weston on Sunday.

The event was held by H Pitman and Sons and Cooperative Funeralcare, based in Milton Road, and took place at St John’s Church in Lower Church Road.

The funeral directors invite clients along to the service each year to light a candle for a loved one while providing the opportunity for people in a similar situation to mingle.

This is the eighth year the event has taken place and the number of attendees grows each year. Money raised through donations goes to the church.
