MORE than 30 children from a trio of Weston schools enjoyed a slap-up breakfast before joining 800 friends for an exciting day out.

Youngsters from Oldmixon, Windwhistle and Bournville primary schools started their action-packed day with a full English at British Home Stores in Weston High Street.

From there, they were whisked to Longleat alongside hundreds of other kids from around the region in an event run by local Rotary clubs.

The children, aged five to 12, enjoyed a tour of the safari park and a picnic lunch, before taking time to enjoy the rides and amusements.

Rotarian Terry Brown, who organised the trip, said: “Thanks to BHS for providing the free breakfast and to the Rotary Club of Weston for funding the event.

“It was a very special day made so much more enjoyable by the positive and involved approach of the youngsters involved.”
