Hundreds of people packed into a marquee at the start of August to celebrate a tradition almost 150 years old.

Hewish, Puxton and Wick St Lawrence Harvest Home took place on August 4 with 700 people enjoying a day packed with fun.

A delicious lunch and a super selection of sweet treats was served, followed sheep races, which entertained the crowd, and games for children.

Later in the evening, the tables were tossed aside and performances from Weston bands Lipinski, Zeals and Guantanamo Bay kept all the revellers dancing long into the night.

The event was celebrating its 145th year this month.

Over the years, it has raised thousands for good causes, including £5,000 for the Derek Mead Health Room, £2,000 for Children’s Hospice South West and £2,000 for Weston Hospicecare.

Representatives from the deserving charities were on hand at the harvest home to accept the much-needed cash.
