A popular business advisor responsible for helping thousands of start-up companies has retired.

Terry Gilbert, of Hutton, has worked on behalf of North Somerset Enterprise Agency (NSEA) since 1998 to support business owners in the region.

He was instrumental in the creation of many jobs and has helped organise numerous charity events, raising thousands of pounds for causes across the area.

He said: “A career highlight was being invited to Buckingham Palace for my work with The Prince’s Trust.

“I will look back fondly at the clients I have met from all walks of life and the many friends I have made during my career.”

NSEA’s chairman Charles Walker added: “He is truly a man of many talents and has been very helpful to thousands of people.

“We thank him for his hard work and wish him a long and happy retirement.”
