A BRAVE Churchill schoolgirl has raised £1,300 for a charity which researches the rare illness she suffers from.
Iris-May Farler-Smith has suffered from Ollier’s disease for more than three years and had her hair cut off in aid off Skeletal Cancer Action Trust.
The illness, which effects one in every 100,000 people, sees Iris-May grow benign tumours all over her body.
She raised £1,300 by having her golden locks cut at Mendip Snowsport Centre with friends from Churchill Primary School watching on. The hair that was cut off will be donated to a children’s cancer charity that makes wigs.
Her mother Sarah, who lives in Birch Drive, thanked local businesses who supported the event.
