“I have always enjoyed taking pictures, but like most people I just used an instant camera.

“I wanted to be able to have more control, so started looking at interchangeable lens cameras.

“The turning point came about three years ago when I bought a micro 4/3 Panasonic camera, the shop was offering a discount on a day’s introduction to photography and I was hooked.

“I enjoy taking landscapes, especially sunsets and sunrise because of the challenge. It’s so unpredictable as to how the light and clouds will react and you have to adapt very quickly. Many times you get up early and wait for the sun to come up only to find there is no interest in the sky or clouds come over and you get nothing.

“For me, photography is about getting out and enjoying what’s around you. If you get a good shot then that’s a bonus.”
