Hundreds of scouts from Weston and its surrounding villages visited the town’s seafront at the weekend to mark St George’s Day.

The Axe District scout network puts on a parade in the town to mark the event every year, and this year the sun shone as hundreds of scouts marched from Knightstone Island to Grove Park.

The promenade was awash with the smart uniforms of the scouts, beavers and cubs, with more than 600 young people taking part in the parade.

Every week more than 1,400 young people between the age of six and 25 take part in scouting activities across the Axe District, and Sunday’s event was also a chance for them to say thank you to their hard-working scout leaders.

The parade ended with a service in Grove Park where awards were handed out for long service.
