In pictures: Somerset's breathtaking scenery from the sky

These stunning photos show what some of Somerset's most famous landmarks look like from the air, as Mercury photographer Zak Ghent and reporter Grace Earl enjoyed a tour of the area courtesy of the Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane Club.

One of the region's busiest roads - the M5 motorway - looked oddly quiet here alongside Crook's Peak.
This photo shows the neatly lined-up caravans of Brean Leisure Park.
As the plane headed back to the airport, we captured Barrow Gurney reservoir and Bristol city centre.

Blagdon Lake and Chew Valley Lake looked majestic in the sunlight.
Cheddar Reservoir was eye-catching alongside its rural surroundings.
