ALMOST 100 people swam, cycled and ran their way to the finish line of Weston-super-Mare’s Triathlon on Sunday.

The first round of swimmers braved the icy waters of Marine Lake at 9am, swimming 400m before jumping on their bikes and cycling 20km around the town and finishing with a 5km run along the promenade.

The sporting spectacle was organised by Freak Events and dozens of people took part,
with many more of their friends and family lining the streets to cheer them on.

The first man to cross the finish line was Phil Wolfe, who finished the race in an impressive 56 minutes and four seconds.

He was closely followed by Matt Cox, who made it to the end in 56 minutes and 56 seconds. In third place was James Warren, who finished in 58 minutes and 33 seconds.

The first woman to complete the triathlon was Imogen Moroney, who clocked in at 63 minutes and 59 seconds.
