A POLICE investigation is underway after a body was found at a home in Weston.

Officers were called to a house in Churchill Road this morning after the body of a man was found.

A spokesman for Great Western Ambulance Service said a 999 call had been made from the property at about 8.49am this morning.

The caller reported that the man was unconscious and could not be woken up.

The spokesman said: “An ambulance crew and a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle were there within four minutes of the call, but unfortunately they confirmed that the patient was dead on their arrival.”

The ambulance crew then called the police.

He added that the man was thought to be in his 40s.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “We were called by the ambulance to an address in Churchill Road.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination is underway.”
