A notorious accident blackspot on one of North Somerset’s busiest roads will be investigated by a specialist traffic consultant.

The junction of the A370 and Smallway, in Congresbury, has seen numerous collisions take place over the years, despite attempts to calm traffic and reduce the dangers posed by traffic turning right from Bristol towards Yatton.

Congresbury Parish Council will now appoint a traffic consultant to investigate ways to make the junction safer, as part of its emerging neighbourhood plan document.

The consultant will also look at creating safe cycle routes and introducing possible speed calming and restrictions in the village.
