An interactive screen, which is the first of its kind in the country, has been unveiled in Weston-super-Mare.

The iPoint has been launched in Regent Street.

Users will be able to buy bus tickets, top up smart cards and plan a journey by public transport.

They can also browse news and events by using the touch screen system.

The two screens provide live information on bus and rail departures via a Twitter feed.

The iPoint was launched by North Somerset Council, along with Crosville Motor Services and First West of England.

North Somerset has been shortlisted for a National Transport Award as a result of its bus smartcards and development of the iPoint.
