Volunteers from a Weston-super-Mare charity will be taking part in a national campaign this month.
The Samaritans of North Somerset and Weston will take part in the Talk To Us campaign, which aims to encourage people to take a few minutes to improve their listening skills.
Volunteers will be at Weston Train Station on July 24 to hand out listening tips and highlight the support it provides to the community.
Weston station workers have received training in suicide prevention from the charity, which has seen a reduction in the number of people taking their own lives on the railways.
The local branch, in High Street, has answered more than 10,000 phone calls, 1,250 emails and almost 800 texts in the past 12 months.
Weston branch director Joe said: “Our volunteers are well trained in listening and we want to pass on some of our knowledge to encourage people to take time out to listen to others as it can really make a difference and listening can save lives.”
