A MAN has been jailed for biting a policeman outside a Weston nightclub.Zac Scott, of Pembroke Road, was thrown out of nightspot Senoritas in the early hours of April 16 after punching a doorman.The police arrived and restrained Scott on the ground after he became aggressive. He then bit PC Ghent on the knee.Scott pleaded guilty to assaulting the doorman and police officer at North Somerset Magistrates Court in Weston on Monday.Prosecuting, Huw Rogers said: "Police officers attended and arrested Mr Scott. When they did so he became aggressive and agitated and began to resist and pull free."At this point PC Ghent was kneeling in front of Mr Scott and the defendant bit the PC on the left knee. He was later interviewed and made no comment."Defending, David Bird said: "Mr Scott had been out with friends and had had a lot to drink. He had had a pleasant time and was not unruly. "During the course of the evening one of Mr Scott's friends decided to throw his wallet onto the roof of the club."He was climbing through the window to get it back and was seen by the security guards, dragged back and then ejected."He was held on the floor outside with a police officer across him and he bit the officer's knee to try and get him off."Scott was given a 60 day prison sentence for assaulting an officer and a consecutive 30 days in prison for assaulting the doorman. He had already served seven days on remand.
