PART of a teenager's ear was nearly bitten off in a shocking night-time attack.Jamie Patel's attacker jumped on him and sank his teeth into his ear as he walked along Walliscote Road in Weston.The thug ripped the top of Jamie's ear apart and then repeatedly kicked him in the face after he fell.The 19-year-old was walking with his friend Dave Montgomery after leaving Sands nightclub in Beach Road. Dave, aged 25, was also attacked by another man. He was punched to the ground and knocked out. When he woke, his attacker was biting his fingers."A friend of ours caught up with us and called the police and it scared them off. When I looked over to Jamie he was covered in blood. It was like a horror film," said Dave.The pair was taken to Weston General Hospital and then transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Jamie's ear has been stitched back together and his face is badly bruised.Police are appealing for information from anyone who saw the assault, which happened at about 1.14am on May 12 near Wilton Gardens off Walliscote Road. Jamie and Dave's night out started after celebrating a cup final win with their football team, South Park Rangers.Jamie, a chef, said: "We went to Sands to celebrate and there was a bit of a scuffle inside. Someone kept pushing me in the back of the head."We left the club because of the trouble and wanted to get something to eat."We were walking home along Walliscote Road and passed the police station. We got to Wilton Gardens when someone hit Dave."I saw one of them from earlier and I started squabbling with him, and he just started biting my ear. I went down to the ground and I don't remember much after that. "Another friend called the police and he told me when he saw us they were just steadily kicking both of us in the face."I can't believe they would follow us from the club and attack us right by the police station."I've got holes in my ear. The hospital let me out on Sunday afternoon after they managed to stitch the ear back up again."Jamie did not want his face pictured in case the offenders recognise him and attack him again.His attacker was white and about 5ft 10ins.
