NINE-year-old Jessica Webb handed in a cheque for £250 for her favourite charity after holding her own raffle.

Donna Webb, the mother of the St Marks Church of England Primary School pupil said her daughter decided to raise the money for Secret World animal rescue centre in East Huntspill to raise money to replenish the centre’s food stocks.

Jessica held her raffle over a month at her mum’s business Hair @ Houlahans in Milton Road, and had a variety of hair products, a chocolate hamper, plants and books from Secret World on offer.

Donna said: “Jessica decided to do this as she just loves animals so much, and she really wanted to do her bit and raise money for the charity.”
