JIM Davidson’s gig at the Grand Pier has been renamed following his arrest over alleged sexual offences earlier this month.

The 59-year-old comedian, who visits Weston on February 22, was set to name his nationwide tour Jim Davidson: The Legend Continues. But it will now be called Jim Davidson: You Must Be Joking, in response to his arrest on January 2, a pier spokesman said this week,

Police officers arrested him on his arrival to the UK from Dubai on suspicion of unspecified sexual offences against two women. The alleged offences date back 25 years, when the women were in their 20s.

Mr Davidson was bailed until March and his lawyer issued a statement strenuously denying the allegations.

The Grand Pier last week confirmed the show would go ahead as planned, despite the former Big Break presenter pulling out of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother.
