A PENSIONER who used to make parts for American fighter planes in World War Two has found a cannon ball on Sandford Hill.John Westlake, aged 78, of The Lynch, Winscombe, has been collecting historical artefacts for 50 years. His most recent finds include musket balls dating back to the Civil War.Among his collection are coins dating back to the reign of Edward III in 1240, a number of regimental badges and bullet-proof glass from a T40 fighter plane. He said: "That was my first job - working on planes during the war.
