A TRIO of bruised and bloodied joyriders fled this overturned car after crashing while driving at high speed through Worle in the early hours of this morning (Weds).

Mercury reader Lee Wingrove captured this dramatic picture after witnessing the crash, which occurred at around 1am in Queensway.

The 18-year-old pizza delivery boy was returning home after a night out with friends when two cars in Becket Road caught their attention.

Lee said: “We heard some tyres squealing and saw two cars come out of Becket Road. I think one was a Corsa and the other was a Vauxhall Senator.

“I don’t know if they were racing but they were going pretty fast.

“The Senator lost control and went up on two wheels, and then it flipped. The other car just kept going.

“We went running over, and three people scrambled out and ran off. They were all wearing white hoodies and there was blood all over.”

Lee and his friends called police, but there was no trace of the occupants by the time officers arrived.
