Your cake ideas are wanted to mark the jubilee

BAKING enthusiasts are being urged to get their thinking caps on and come up with a royal cake design to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.

Acer House in Milton Road is welcoming people in Weston to come up with their own unique recipe to celebrate the monarch’s 60 years on the throne.

The designs will all be judged at an event in the dementia care home’s grounds on June 3 at 2pm, before the winner is named as the Queen Elizabeth cake.

The home’s recreational and leisure co-ordinator, Patricia Eyre, said: “Queen Victoria has a sponge named after her, so we thought why shouldn’t the current Queen have a cake named after her to mark the occasion?

“We are looking for people to be really quite creative and as silly as they would like to be.”

If you want to enter your cake, call 01934 637350.
