HUNDREDS of metres-worth of bunting is being prepared in Blagdon ahead of the village’s Diamond Jubilee extravaganza.

The Mead will host a free event on June 4 which will feature a music concert, hog roast and bar, while a beacon – one of hundreds being set off across the country – will be lit at the top of the tower of St Andrews Church.

The event will begin at 4pm and last through the evening.
