Karen Hynds touches down after her fund-raising skydive

AN INTREPID Weston youth worker has risked life and limb to help raise money for the children she works with.

Karen Hynds, of Shrubbery Road, works with Crossroads Care supporting nearly 300 people across North Somerset.

And the brave 40-year-old has raised around £850 towards the cause by taking on a 15,000ft skydive.

Karen, who had initially planned to tackle a 10,000ft jump, said: “I figured that once I was up there, what was another 5,000ft to benefit the caring children that we support?

“I hoped that it would inspire people to be as generous as they can in order to give the children a much-needed break from their caring responsibilities this Christmas.”

Anyone who would like to make a belated donation in support of Karen’s daredevil feat can contact Crossroads by calling 01934 411854.
