A TALENTED young musician has taken one step closer to the big time by impressing a music producer.Since winning a song writing competition on the theme of bullying, Karl Griffiths, aged 13, has been approached by producer Martin Smith, of Muse Rooms Recording Studios in Bristol, to record a three-song CD. Karl is hoping it will be in the shops and the tracks played on radio stations by the Spring.Karl, a pupil at Westhaven School in Uphill, said: "I have only been playing guitar for a year so this is a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to the whole recording process. I wrote my first song, Picked On, based on my own experiences of bullying and any money I make from the songs will go towards this cause."The youngster, of Summerlands Road, Weston, hopes the CD will help him launch a career in the music business and is busy putting the final touches to his three original songs, before he enters the studio on Monday. He said: "I have a sore throat at the moment which I hope will clear up before I have to go into the studio. By this time next year I would like to be famous, at least around Weston.
