Students from Hugh Sexey Middle School in Blackford welcomed The Singing Children of Africa into their classrooms.

A choir from the Jolaurabi School in Mombasa, Kenya, visited Somerset on October 14 and took part in a number of activities throughout the day.

Each school put together performances – the Kenyan students delivered a number of songs and dances while the Hugh Sexey percussion band played for its visitors.

The school’s PE department also organised an intercontinental football match during lunchtime, with Jolaurabi students winning 3-1.

Jolaurabi School is a charity school funded by Educate The Kids, a not-for-profit, UK-based charity.
