IT MIGHT be every parent's nightmare letting their children loose with glitter and paint but youngsters at one church were allowed to make as much mess as they possibly could at the weekend.

Families enjoyed lots of different arts and crafts at a messy church event in Winscombe on Saturday, putting together a range of fun creations with paint, glue and glitter.

The popular event was held at St James’ Church Hall and was organised by children and families worker Helen Weavers.

Helen told the Mercury: “This month was Messy Epiphany, celebrating the visit of the three kings to Jesus, so there were lots of activities to do with stars and lights and taking that light and love back to our homes.”

“There were more than 50 people so it was very messy and noisy with lots of food and lots of fun.”
