A group of seven children learn how to survive in the wilderness in a new YMCA film project.
Seven children between nine and 13 from the YMCA took part in a film which was proposed by Benjamin Peters, the founder of Expedition Medicine – First Aid Supplies & Training.
The project saw the youngsters challenged to spend three days and two nights living in the wilderness. They had to find shelter, make fire, locate water and set traps for food. Their adventures were filmed by Blackwater and Freedom Works and made into an hour-long film.
The project also worked with local band The Zeals, to produce a song titled Time Is Ours for the film.
Mr Peters said he wanted to give back to the YMCA and approached the organisation’s Harry Dempster to make the film happen.
The project, which would have cost thousands to create, was free, with businesses donating their time and skills.
The film will premiere at the Tropicana on August 19 at 6pm.
