A WESTON couple have celebrated their diamond day after 60 years of marriage.

Betty, aged 90, and Paul Kolsteren, aged 89, of Milton Road, met at a dance while living in Kent and married a few years later in Dartford.

When Paul was made redundant from a textile company in 1976 they made the decision to move closer to family in the South West, buying and running the Post Office Stores at Kenn.

After a few years they sold the business and Paul then started working for Bristol City Council and Betty with the Department of Transport before later retiring.

Dancing has always been a big part of their lives and the couple previously belonged to a number of sequence dancing clubs including Yatton, Nailsea, Backwell and Weston.

The couple celebrated their anniversary on June 21 with a party with friends and family.
