Ladies from a former Weston convent school took a walk down memory lane to raise money for the RNLI on Wednesday.

A group of 20 women from La Retraite Catholic School for Girls, which used to be in South Road, met up at Dr Fox’s Tearoom, on Knightstone Island, for a lunch and to raise money for the lifesaving charity.

The ladies took part in a tombola and won a number of prizes while raising money for the RNLI’s uniform fundraiser.

Organiser Theresa Scott said: “We started having class reunions when some of us hit 50 and it went from there. Through Facebook, we were able to connect with other former pupils.

“We all have different memories of the school and it is really lovely to be able to share these with each other.

“Everyone brings some old photos, badges and sometimes old uniform to share. It is a real show of friendship and comradery.”
