A WESTON great-grandmother celebrated her 102nd birthday with friends and family.

Lily Colwell, who lives at The Cedars care home in Clevedon Road, was joined by all three generations of her family for the special day last month.

Born in Bristol in 1909, Lily later worked at Wills Factory in Bristol making cigarettes for the armed forces during the war years.

She married Hedley in 1934 and had one daughter, Gillian.

The couple moved to Nailsea, but Hedley passed away in 1993 and Lily moved to The Cedars in 2010.

She enjoys dressmaking, cooking and knitting.
