PEOPLE in Sandford have until Monday to comment on plans to build a high-voltage substation in the village.

National Grid wants to build the substation on a site to the west of Nye Road as part of its plans for a 400,000 volt connection between Hinkley Point power station and Avonmouth.

Anyone who wants to give their opinion on the plans can do so by calling 0800 3777347 or visiting www.hinkleyconnection.co.uk

The energy giant expects to announce its draft preferred route towards the end of the year before final project plans are handed in at the end of 2013.
