AN OFFICIAL launch party held for a Somerset food and drink festival saw foodies get together to showcase their offerings.
The Burnham Food And Drink Festival, set to start later this month, will see more than 70 stalls in five venues and an outdoor market.
Stallholders gathered on Thursday in preparation for the festival’s opening on September 28.
Festival director Sarah Milner Simonds said: “The launch party was a great opportunity for traders to showcase their products to one another outside of the trading buzz of the festival day.
“The festival is a great opportunity to meet up with friends and family and enjoy some of the best food and drink from across Somerset right in the heart of the town - with no entrance fee.
“We have listened to feedback and introduced more venues, so there is more space to move around. We have asked outdoor traders to bring tables and chairs so there are more places to sit and enjoy the great food from our street vendors.
“And we have expanded the competitions to include home-brew beer, chilli-eating and also a pie category in the Great Burnham Bake-off.”
