Talented law student Jenny Payne has just been awarded with a university prize.

A TALENTED Weston College law student has won a university prize for top marks in her AS levels.

Jenny Payne, aged 17, of Wick St Lawrence, was awarded the annual University of the West of England (UWE) law school prize after coming top of 63 students taking AS exams in law.

She said: “I was really pleased to get the award and I think I’ll spend the cheque money on some Christmas presents.

“I want to study law at university after my A-levels and eventually work in law in a business environment.”

Jenny achieved 100 per cent in one of her exams and also received a cheque from the university.

Alexandra Sermon, Jenny’s law lecturer at Weston College, said: “She is a very talented student and thoroughly deserved to win this prize after displaying an outstanding performance.

“This honour will stand her in very good stead when she applies to universities.”
