A LARGE main burst in the early hours of this morning (Mon) causing water to leak onto some of Weston's roads.

The main burst in Broadway on the Oldmixon Estate at around 12am and Bristol Water carried out work through the night to rezone the supplies.

Water has been reported to be showing on Broadway and there are two-way traffic lights in force which may cause some delays.

Ottawa Road has also been affected by the burst water main, with water flowing into the street.

Some people have reported experiencing discoloured water, which occurs when particles in the pipes are disturbed by changes to the flow.

A spokesman for Bristol Water said anyone experiencing the problem should run the taps.

Bristol Water hopes to carry out repair work tonight once it has permission from Network Rail, due to the proximity to the railway.

The Bristol Water spokesman said no customers have reported being without water.
