Pupils at King Alfred's School held a number of events last week to raise money for Weston Hospicecare and St Margaret's Somerset Hospice in Taunton.
The students had a fancy dress day, sports matches between staff and students and had an eating competition to see who could eat lard and spam in the quickest time.
Proceeds are still being counted from last week's events but in 2006 the school raised £2,000 for charity.
