Legion’s handyman service

THE Royal British Legion has taken on a dedicated handyman to help people in Somerset and North Somerset with small repairs.

The legion’s free service, entitled Poppy Calls, provides a trusted person to carry out a range of repairs and minor adaptations including tap or lock replacement, the installation of smoke detectors, grab rails and door chains, flat pack furniture assembly and domestic electrical work.

To be eligible, service users must have served in the forces for at least seven days or be the dependent of someone who has served, and be in receipt of a means-tested benefit or tax / pension credit. For more details call 0800 0320306.
