Christmas Lights switch on last year

WESTON will be awash with festive spirit tomorrow (Thur) when one lucky person is selected to flick the switch for the town’s Christmas illuminations.

People are in with the chance of lighting up the streets through a raffle, organised by town mayor Councillor Phil Judd, in aid of his selected charities.

Live entertainment begins at 4.45pm and raffle tickets are on sale between 4.30 and 5.30pm at the Italian Gardens.

Cllr Judd will draw the raffle, with the winner switching on the illuminations at 6.15pm.

Entertainment includes live bands, street dance crews, children’s rides, bouncy castle and Father Christmas.

The lights in the Sovereign Shopping Centre will also be flicked on at 5.30pm by special guest Peppa Pig.

Cllr Judd will be hosting a reception after the festivities at the Blakehay Theatre in Wadham Street, and entertainment will continue in the Italian Gardens until around 9pm.
