NORTH Somerset is gearing up for the Diamond Jubilee – and we want to know all about your royal events.

Reception pupils at Banwell Primary School kicked off the celebrations early on May 10 with a wow day where they learned about the jubilee while dressed as princes, princesses and soldiers.

They learned how to march, and enjoyed some fish and chips from Winscombe Fish Bar before making cakes for their afternoon tea. Dozens of events are scheduled to take place across the district to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years on the throne.

Let us know about your event by emailing newsdesk@westonmercury.co.uk or calling 01934 422500.

And you can join our reporting team through our new iwitness site, where you can upload your own event pictures to our dedicated jubilee section.
