COUNCIL leaders are exploring the possibility of using Weston’s library building as a community facility.

The service will move into the new-style Town Hall next year, so North Somerset Council has now started to look at options for the future of the Boulevard site.

Council leader, Councillor Nigel Ashton, said: “We are happy to consider all options for the future use of the building as part of our wider review of council and partner buildings through our office amalgamation programme.

“Ultimately it will come down to the most viable, sustainable and cost-effective solution.

“I understand there has been some interest in the potential for community use.

“This is a great suggestion, but we can only support a solution that is financially sustainable.”
