LIFEBOAT crew members from Weston RNLI auctioned their services at the charity’s annual dinner dance to raise cash for the life-saving service.

The event, held at the Commodore Hotel, in Beach Road, was supported by Zara Davis, the world speed sailing record holder.

Several of the crew, who are skilled tradesmen, offered to auction some of their time to the highest bidder. A plumber, carpenter and two electricians were auctioned as well as a trip on one of the crew’s power boat. The surprise auction raised almost £300.
